My three-month forecast: apples, apples, and all things fall.
No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.

Today was almost my ideal day weather-wise. I think just a pinch of crispness, and a dash of breeze should do. Add a splash of color on the trees and I will be content.
There is something about the autumn that is traditionally morose. It must be the whole theme of leaves dying and spiraling to their deaths…yeah, that’s probably it.
All of the autumn poetry that I have found is rather melancholy. I don’t quite understand it. I love the fall! My roommates may have figured this out since I have began to add a few touches of autumn here and there.
My kitchen table is decorated with a small pumpkin, an orange vase with a few fall flowers, and a candy dish filled with candy corn. (I found chocolate candy corn!)
On our kitchen counter is half of an apple spice cake with caramel icing. I have apple-spiced tea in the cupboard and a candle in a cute acorn shaped holder. My boyfriend shares my enthusiasm for the fall and bought me the candle. I think I am addicted .
It smells delicious and whenever I light it I am transported back into the world of leaf piles and hayrides. Scent is said to be great in triggering memories. I would say it also stirs up emotions. Luckily for me, they are all the good kinds.
September isn’t over yet but I am already looking ahead to October. I can’t wait to go pumpkin picking and drink hot apple cider. I love apple fritters, apple donuts, apple pie…and apple dumplings. Mmm. I’m also thinking about baking a pumpkin pie in the near future. I already bought orange icing with little bat sprinkles for the cupcakes that I am going to bake.
I have also been in the process of planning my Halloween costume…if I could only convince my boyfriend to be Aladdin so I can be Jasmine (hint hint).
Oh, not to mention, after October is November which means stuffing! (My favorite food). We will have our Thanksgiving break and I will go home… and stuff myself with food.
After that is December, which means finals, but also MEXICO!!! Olé! My study abroad trip begins December 12th and I come back December 23rd.
Wow, the forecast for the next few months looks awesome!
Autumn is undoubtedly my favorite season. I will be in a good mood until winter tries to steal it away with its forecast of gray skies, cold and snow.
But for now I shall eat cake.
mmmm
