Lions, and tigers and tests, oh my!

I’ve been perfecting my juggling act this last week and a half. I’m getting pretty good at it, but it’s taken some time, some bona fide motivation as well. But the quarter never really starts until you spend the weekend before a midterm and a paper is due hanging out, at home for that fact.

So You Think You Can Dance? I do, and I went to the concert this past weekend. It’s kind of a tradition. I’ve seen all four SYTYCD tours. My mom, my aunt, cousins and friends all go every year. I get so excited—yes, I’m a reality show junkie, but I just like the good ones (So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, Top Model.)

It takes about 2 ½ hours for me to drive home to Toledo, and the same to get back to Columbus, of course. I bolted out of here after my last class on Friday for the Saturday night show. My only issue was, I have rehearsal on Sunday mornings at 10:00. Have you done the math yet? No? Well, I had to leave my house at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday morning to make my rehearsal. Rehearsal all day Sunday, and I’d say this is about when my act got really good. I’m juggling knives at this point.

Note to self, don’t wait until the night before your 7:30 a.m. class to read the novel. It does not make for a pleasant morning. Note to self, don’t wait until the night before your 7:30 a.m. class to finish writing the paper. Note to self… You get the picture. I’m still learning. It’s my third year here, but I’m still discovering. For instance, books on tape can be your friends. No shame, but when the 19th hour of your day begins, listening will be much easier than reading. But follow along; that helps.

I made it through Tuesdays, which is a good sign. Midterm on Thursday, and I’m adding trapeze to my act. I’m going to watch some more dance, and dancing myself at Scott Laboratory on Wednesday, more on that later. Oh yeah, and MORE dance on Friday when the Kristina Isabelle Company performs in Sullivant! There’s LP sale at the Music and Dance Library on Saturday. I think I’ll check that out. Busy week, but for now, I have to go back to studying Organizational Communication while balancing on my hands, while on a spinning disc, while hopping through the fire, while…

Here's a picture from the show. Kupono! My favorite. We had great seats, btw.So You Think You Can Dance
