Few they may be, but the heart bleeds slowly still…

Don’t worry. The world isn’t ending, but we did lose.

You can sense the silent tears of buckeyes everywhere after a tough loss like this. The streets go quiet—High Street barren and cold (not really cold, but definitely calm.) The flames of last night’s bonfires are gone and the free treats along the street are no more (the frozen yogurt was especially delicious.) There won’t be a discount at the bookstore today. We won’t celebrate the rise of our ranking.

I logged onto facebook after the game, only to find my non-Ohio State “friends” mocking our loss. They’re jealous, I told myself. We’ll be back next week with a win. And I’m confident we will. ;)

The best way to cope with a loss is to occupy yourself with other activities. A game of Frisbee, for instance, might take your mind off of it. Or maybe a day of Arrested Development better suits your fancy. Liza Minnelli in season one is maybe the funniest thing on tv. You know what else is a good way to get your head out of a disappointing loss, Guitar Hero. I, however, will be spending my time in rehearsals, two of them, but they promise to take up my entire day. But rehearsals are fun. We have a show soon, which gives us three weeks to finish and perfect the dance. It’s a little scary, actually. Yes, we’ve been rehearsing for a year, but it’s still not done. I’m confident it’ll happen.

And I’m off!
