Literally, not figuratively.
I mean I lose things. I lose all things, all of the time... I’m one of those people who would lose their head if it weren’t attached. Last year I went on a streak. I lost my BuckiD, two rather large checks and then my BuckiD again, all in one week. Luckily, the university makes it easy to retrieve such items. The ID costs ten bucks, but it’s quick and painless. All you have to do is head over to Lincoln Tower and follow the signs to the BuckiD offices. From there, it’s cake. The same goes for the checks, but I really really really advise you to keep a close eye on those. They can, however, stop the check and issue a new one.
Anyway, that week of irresponsibility is not what prompted this blog. I lost my umbrella. It was rather devastating. My hair was straight, and the week of rain that the weatherman promised did not make me particularly happy. You have to know, we get these bouts of rain, that with an umbrella are no big deal, but without one, class can be a bit unpleasant.
I lost my umbrella when I forgot it under my desk after class. I remembered it as I walked out the door and it was still raining. I ran back up the stairs, and lucky me, it was still there. BUT, I lost it again after my next class. I left that one at the door, and this time, when I returned several hours later it, of course, wasn’t there. So I had to walk in the rain. It was O.K., though. It was only sprinkling by then, and when I got back to my room, I found my umbrella in my back. Yes, that’s right, it was in my bag the whole time…
So maybe I’ve moved on, maybe now I just misplace things.
