It's always better in the Short North, my favorite place in Columbus...

I love the opportunity to brag about how great Columbus is—those of you who are more frequent readers may be sick of it by now! But I can’t resist spreading the word about the city.

This weekend was Halloween, and I hit up the second annual Highball Halloween in the Short North.  I met up with some of my former RA co-workers to check out some of the most creative costumes I’ve ever seen. My favorite was a couple who together made up two of the heads of Mount Rushmore, with another head attached to each. I’ll have to ask around to see who got pictures so I can post them ASAP.
There were plenty of costume shows—for kids, the general public, professionals…even dogs! We stopped by a great coffee shop nearby called Travonna Coffeehouse. The live music and chatting with Columbus locals really made the night. It was so much classier than any campus Halloween activity.
Next week is Gallery Hop! This monthly event is definitely on my Favorite Things list for Columbus. I want to take advatntage of this as much as possible this year before I graduate.
