What to bring, what to bring...
It's not having what you want
It's wanting what you've got

Sure, OSU provides a handy list of things to bring via the housing website. But even with helpful lists like that, people sometimes forget very crucial items.
Fear not freshmen! I remember the things I wish I had remembered back then! So without further ado, I present to you...
TOP 10 THINGS I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT TO CAMPUS
- Rain gear! I'm talking shoes, coat, umbrella... the works. It WILL rain, this I promise you.
- Workout gear! Athletic shorts and whatnot are important, especially with such a nice RPAC!
- Stamps! You will LOVE getting/giving mail in college, trust me. Also, useful tip: you can look up your mailing address on your housing assignment letter.
- Swimming Gear! Whether jumping into Mirror Lake or just enjoying the pools here at OSU, you'll want your swimsuit.
- Pens and Pencils! If you're like me, you're gonna lose these things like mad. Have extras!
- Super Glue! Things break. But super glue can fix almost any random breakage.
- Ready-to-bake Baked Goods! Cookies and brownies never tasted so good! Residence Halls will have some form of kitchen and kitchen supplies for you to use; just consult your front desk.
- Formal Attire! Formal presentations, semi-formal dances, award ceremonies, scholarship ceremonies... this is a must-have!
- DVDs! You're going to have some free-time in the dorms, and few things are as randomly fun as inviting over some new friends to watch a good movie (Disney is the universal college kid unifier!).
- A great attitude and a desire to meet a ton of new awesome people! 'Nuff said. :-)
Number 10 is by far the most important! There are tens of thousands of students at OSU, and a few thousand of them will be freshmen, just like you, ready to make new friends.
Take care,
Rob
